She is the one who has breathed life
As I wandered soulless, she touched with light
She brightened the day, and faced all the clouds
Without her knowing it, she shooed them away

I was happy at first, I thought I was free
To walk by her side, and laugh and shout
But then she told how, her darkest of clouds
One shed her with light, and it was mine to announce

For I have known from that day, she made that smile
That I thought only I, could ever be endowed
Her flickering spirit, only roared and aroused
A smile so criminal, a smile so loud

And right now I lay by the side, wanting to let go,
Of her fire from inside that gleam and glow
That which she has lit my world and my eyes
Let it go, disappear return to her life

So will I walk again among the soulless?
Among the heartless not kindled in delight
To return to the dark cold toil behind the looking glass
As the light that passed by slowly fades away
